How to Connect Homeit with Cloudbeds for the First Time
- Ensure You Have a Homeit Premium Account: Subscribe to Homeit Premium to receive your unique API key (a secure password needed for integration).
- Log in to Cloudbeds: Access your Cloudbeds account.
- Navigate to the Marketplace: Go to the "App & Marketplace" section in Cloudbeds and search for "Homeit."
- Select Homeit and Begin Connection: Click on Homeit in the Marketplace and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Enter Your API Key: When prompted, enter the Homeit API key you received during your subscription.
- Complete Setup: Finalize the connection by reviewing and confirming the integration settings.
Specific Functionalities of the Homeit and Cloudbeds Integration Homeit is fully integrated with Cloudbeds, enabling real-time responses to key reservation events, including:
- New Reservations: Automatically generates a Homeit digital key for your guests.
- Changes to Check-In/Check-Out Dates: Updates the digital key to reflect the new schedule.
- Accommodation Changes: Adjusts the key to match the updated accommodation.
- Reservation Status Updates: Deletes the key if the reservation is canceled.
Once the Homeit digital key is created, custom fields are added to the Cloudbeds reservation, including:
- Entry Code: The unique code for accessing the property.
- Invitation Link: A link for opening doors via smartphone.
These fields can be included in automatic emails sent from Cloudbeds to ensure seamless guest communication.
Limitations of the Homeit and Cloudbeds Integration To ensure the integration works smoothly, avoid deleting custom fields at the property level in Cloudbeds. These fields are essential for maintaining the connection and functionality between Homeit and Cloudbeds.
How to Disconnect the Apps If you need to disconnect Homeit from Cloudbeds, you can do so directly from the Cloudbeds dashboard:
- Go to the Cloudbeds dashboard.
- Navigate to the "App & Marketplace" section.
- Locate the Homeit integration and toggle it off.
